Fashion Week Favorites

Given all of the incredible looks seen at fashion week thus far, posting all of them would fulfill a blog quota for several months. Instead, here some of my favorite looks from each designer's collection. This entry includes looks from Mara Hoffman, Cynthia Rowley, Falguni & Shane Peacock, Ruffian, Lacoste, Jill Stuart, Son Jung Wan, Adam, and Vivienne Tam. This is just the first serving of many more delicious fashion week entrees to come; truly a feast for the eyes, bon appetite!

In Remembrance of 9/11

My thoughts go out to all of those who were impacted by the World Trade Center attack on September 11, 2001. Ten years ago, this chain link fence was covered with paper photographs of those still missing which were posted by hopeful families. Now, tiles painted by children around the country have replaced the paper photographs as a lasting memorial to those who died.

Let the Games Begin!

Already approaching day 3 of New York City Fashion week sponsored by Mercedes Benz, the clothing both on and off the runway has been fabulous. To give just a little taste of much more fashion to come, here are some photos from day 1 of fashion week from the Emerson show.

The Bees Knees

Taking a trip up to Woodstock, New York was an interesting adventure. While this wasn't the site of the original concert which took place in Bethel, about an hour South; something more interesting than rockstars flew in for the occasion. Bees pollinating beautiful flowers was definitely something worth noticing as well as butterflies gracing flowers with their presence, both competing in natures beauty contest. In addition to Woodstock, a ride on the Staten Island ferry put into perspective the small island that houses such incredible people, art, and fashion. This particular post focuses on beauty to be seen; not worn. Both microscopic in flowers and insects, and macroscopic; capturing New York City as a whole and not just the people on the street. Stay tuned for street fashion.
