#7 Trunk Shows
For centuries trunk shows have played a major role in the fashion industry, creating a more intimate environment for customers of particular stores to get an exclusive showing of a particular designer. In a way, it is a made-to-order fashion show for those that do not live in an area with a fashion week as big as that of New York. This particular video is of the Alexander McQueen trunk show on November 24th, 2010 and it is clear that while professional, the show is much less intimidating than those of fashion week.

I completely agree that a trunk show seems much less intimidating than a full fashion show. I would be interested in going to one to see how different designers use different ways to present merchandise during each trunk show.
ReplyDeleteI love how you described the definition of trunk show! I was thinking about putting a description of it while I was posting, too, but I could not make it my own words.. (probably because I am not so good at English haha).. And I also agree that your video of Alexander McQeen's trunk show is less intimate than a full fashion show. I would love to be invited to a trunk show like this in the future!
