#4 Color from the Street

This particular bag is an accurate summary of all of the different colors on the street. One particular color combination however, stood out on the spectrum, aqua blue and purple, an interesting duet of color that was popping up all over the streets of Manhattan and Long Island.

This young man pairs an aqua t-shirt and hat. Matchy-matchy is a little circa 1990 however this chic college student pulls it off. The splash of purple on top of the hat (although slightly difficult to see) is the purple icing on top of this aqua ensemble.

This fashionable Frenchman certainly knows how to wear a collage of color. His purple and aqua jacket capture the true essence of this weeks predominant polychromasia.  A pink collar certainly reflects radiantly with his orange sweater, a rainbow of color coordinated cooly.

A jumble of patterns almost hid this purple and aqua plaid shirt. The crisscross of colors coordinates well with the gray sweater. The red houndstooth scarf may not be the first pattern that comes to mind when dealing with blue and purple plaid, however the shirt and sweater make up for the scarf.

Matching perfectly with the FedEx sign was this young mans aqua hoodie and striped purple t-shirt. It seems that every man on the street wants to coordinate the two colors but none seemed to do it quite as well as this fashionista who topped off the color combo with a black leather jacket, a perfect covering to a colorful day.

  1. I love that you focused on such vibrant colors that really stand out in the sea of black and neutrals. These men aren't afraid to make a statement, and pull it off really well.

  3. Hi, I also saw lots of aqua blues and purples around the streets last weekend when I was out also looking for color trends! Not so much people were actually wearing something purple, but people were wearing purple as one of their accessories: such as scarves and hats. And the most interesting fact I found out as I was working on my 5th blog post was that the colors that we see on the streets (aqua blue, purple, camel, etc,.) were already predicted by the fashion forecasting sites!
