Yesterday was a very gloomy day with very few street fashions to be mentioned as people dressed as drab as the weather. The two highlights of the day however, were first visiting Didier Ludot, the legendary vintage clothing store. It was there that we received a lecture from the most incredible woman. Standing at five feet tall and dressed head to toe in Lacroix, Dominique took us through the history of the little black dress. After learning about Chanel, the woman who first conceptualized the little black dress, we trudged through the rain to Malhia Kent, the textile manufacturer who got her start at Chanel in producing the infamous Chanel tweed. The textiles were beautiful and we got to see firsthand how they are produced. The beauty of the textiles however, cannot be compared in any way, shape, or form to the beauty of the Palace of Versailles. Hopping on the train early this morning, we made our way to Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI's humble abode. After touring the ornate palace, we spent the rest of the day wandering the exquisite gardens; marveling at the sculptures and gardening as well as the long aisles of hedges. White puffy clouds painted on the bright blue sky created an absolutely perfect backdrop for the magnificent French scenery.
And now, a photo tour through the palace of Versailles

The ceilings of the palace were elaborately decorated either in gold detailing or hand painted by artists commissioned by the king. Many of the paintings depicted Greek mythology and god's of power.

And now for the best part, the gardens
Rusted garden sculptures still came to life in the not so secret garden of Versailles
In terms of fashion, many of the visitors were tourists who did not depict the typcial Parisian style. There were some interesting trends that are worth mentioning however including jackets in interesting and creative prints and cuts.
Even at Versailles, hints of red could be found
A forest green is definitely a color to take note of as it has been popping up all over the
It would appear that animal prints have made their way to Paris
